Feeling off in Charleston? Skip the urgent care line
Between the wedding weekends, the food scene, and the Lowcountry heat, Charleston can catch up with you. Food poisoning, dehydration, a UTI, a sinus infection, or a sore throat shouldn’t cost you a day of your trip in a waiting room. Vacation Medicine treats these by video, from your hotel or rental.
Food poisoning with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, dehydration and heat-related illness, UTIs, sinus and respiratory infections, sore throats, ear infections, rashes and allergic reactions, sunburn, COVID and flu, and minor injuries.
Vacation Medicine was founded by Dr. Erik Petersen and Dr. Will Carlson, board-certified emergency physicians with 25+ years of combined experience and 50,000+ patients treated. Licensed in South Carolina and 20+ other states, we’re built specifically for travelers who need fast, physician-led care without leaving where they’re staying.

Yes. As long as you’re physically in South Carolina at the time of the visit, you can be seen by video from anywhere — your rental, hotel, or wherever you’re staying.
How fast can I be seen?
Most visits start within minutes and take about 10–15 minutes start to finish.
Can you send a prescription to a pharmacy near me?
Yes — we send prescriptions electronically to the Charleston-area pharmacy most convenient to you.
What does it cost?
A flat $100 per visit, including a full week of follow-up messaging. We’re direct-pay and don’t bill insurance.
What if I need to be seen in person?
In the rare case you need a higher level of care, we’ll help you find the nearest Charleston ER or clinic — at no cost for the virtual visit.
