A fever at the cabin shouldn’t cost you a day in the Smokies
Your Smoky Mountain cabin might be a winding 30 minutes from the nearest clinic. When a kid spikes a fever, a hike ends in a sprained ankle, or poison ivy, bug bites, or a stomach bug strike, you don’t want to drive down the mountain and wait. Vacation Medicine treats these by video, so you can be seen right from the cabin in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge.
Poison ivy and skin rashes, bug bites and allergic reactions, sprains and minor injuries, ear infections, strep and sore throats, sinus and respiratory infections, UTIs, food poisoning with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, COVID and flu, and fevers in kids and adults.
Vacation Medicine was founded by Dr. Erik Petersen and Dr. Will Carlson, board-certified emergency physicians with 25+ years of combined experience and 50,000+ patients treated. Licensed in Tennessee and 20+ other states, we’re built specifically for travelers who need fast, physician-led care without leaving where they’re staying.
We can send your prescription to whichever Gatlinburg-area pharmacy is most convenient. Not sure what’s close to where you’re staying? Use the button below to find pharmacies near where you’re staying.
Can you treat me at my Gatlinburg hotel or rental?

How fast can I be seen?
Most visits start within minutes and take about 10–15 minutes start to finish.
Can you send a prescription to a pharmacy near me?
Yes — we send prescriptions electronically to the Gatlinburg-area pharmacy most convenient to you.
What does it cost?
A flat $100 per visit, including a full week of follow-up messaging. We’re direct-pay and don’t bill insurance.
What if I need to be seen in person?
In the rare case you need a higher level of care, we’ll help you find the nearest Gatlinburg ER or clinic — at no cost for the virtual visit.
